Role overview
This position is for a seasoned operations professional who can support and supervise the daily running of several business divisions. The role calls for deep exposure to the Oil & Gas sector, the ability to lead teams effectively, and a strong record of improving operational performance, strengthening business results, and handling contracts.
What you will do
- Manage the daily activities of multiple business divisions so operations remain efficient, consistent, and aligned with customer and company expectations.
- Work closely with division heads to spot operational issues, remove bottlenecks, and introduce practical fixes that raise productivity and reduce cost.
- Collect, track, preserve, and assess operational performance data, then compile reports for the Operations Manager.
- Assess what is needed to keep the business running and growing, including facilities, equipment, tools, IT systems, and manpower.
- Review existing capabilities and suggest new business opportunities, services, and product offerings for each division.
- Examine tenders, contracts, agreements, and other commercial papers when needed.
- Step in for the Operations Manager during periods of absence, including taking decisions, resolving conflicts, and leading operations.
- Contribute to strategic planning and support ongoing improvement initiatives across the organization.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Engineering from a recognized institution is required.
- A postgraduate qualification in Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline is considered an added advantage.
- Prior work experience in the Oil & Gas industry is compulsory.
- Overall professional experience must be at least 15 years.
- At least 5 years should be in a managerial or assistant managerial role.
- Strong understanding of operations management and business process improvement is essential.
- Experience in evaluating tenders, reviewing contracts, and handling commercial documentation is needed.
- Excellent leadership, communication, analytical thinking, and decision-making abilities are required.
