Role Overview
The Demand Planner will oversee inventory planning for a retail convenience store operation in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This role focuses on forecasting demand, maintaining healthy stock levels, and ensuring products move efficiently from suppliers to stores.
Key Responsibilities
- Forecast inventory needs using sales patterns and demand trends.
- Track stock movement, identify slow-moving items, and monitor aging stock.
- Work with suppliers to secure deliveries according to agreed timelines.
- Create purchase orders and follow up until the orders are completed.
- Keep stock levels balanced across the warehouse and store locations.
- Review sales information to support better replenishment and stock rotation decisions.
- Follow internal procurement rules and purchasing standards.
- Compile inventory and purchasing reports for management.
- Coordinate with warehouse and operations teams to support smooth distribution.
- Handle supplier pricing and payment discussions where needed.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree is preferred, especially in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a similar discipline.
- 2 to 5 years of experience in buying, procurement, or inventory planning, ideally in retail, FMCG, or convenience stores.
- Strong ability to analyze data and work with numbers.
- Comfortable using MS Excel and ERP platforms.
- Clear communication and negotiation abilities.
- Able to perform well under pressure and meet deadlines.
