Requirements
- At least 1 year of supervisory experience in fresh food.
- At least 2 years of work experience in a position with strong exposure to fresh food.
- Certified training in HACCP and food safety, with practical experience applying those standards.
- Hands-on experience placing orders for deli operations and controlling waste in a fresh food setting.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
- Strong numerical ability.
- Capable of managing rosters and working within budget limits.
- Clear and effective communication skills.
- Genuine interest in the food industry, with creativity and innovation in fresh food offerings.
- Customer-oriented leadership style with the ability to develop a loyal customer base.
- Ability to guide, motivate, and support team members through coaching and development.
Responsibilities
- Uphold the brand values of being proud, energetic, imaginative, and community-focused.
- Oversee the presentation and layout of the deli serve-over counter.
- Ensure planograms are followed accurately.
- Reduce waste and shrinkage across the department.
- Contribute fresh food ideas by researching trends and comparing performance with competitors.
- Share product knowledge, recipes, and recommendations with customers to promote quality food.
- Train new deli team members.
- Handle customer questions and concerns in a professional, timely manner in line with store policy.
- Participate in new initiatives and adapt to updated ways of working.
