About the Role
Langley Christian School is seeking a dependable Day Time Custodian to support the day-to-day functioning of its Middle School. This role is central to keeping the school environment clean, safe, and welcoming for students, staff, and parents throughout the day. It is well suited to someone who is flexible, people-oriented, and comfortable working in a busy setting where priorities can shift during the week.
You will be part of a staff community of 160+ professionals united by a shared Christian mission and a commitment to strong educational outcomes. Working Hours
This position runs from 8:30 am to 2:30 pm on school days only.
What You Will Do
- Maintain cleanliness and order across classrooms, hallways, and shared facilities during the school day.
- Provide practical support as needs arise in a changing school environment.
- Interact professionally with students, staff, and parents while carrying out daily duties.
- Help ensure the Middle School remains safe, functional, and welcoming.
- Respond to day-to-day custodial and maintenance-related needs with a flexible approach.
Qualifications
- Grade 12 completion is required.
- Prior experience in commercial cleaning, janitorial services, or general building maintenance is considered an advantage.
- You should be able to work on your own with limited supervision while still contributing well to a team environment.
- The role requires physical activity, including standing for long periods, bending, reaching, and safely lifting up to 15–20 kg.
- Employment depends on passing a criminal record check.
Compensation and Benefits
- Hourly pay of $21 to $24.
- Extended benefits are included.
- Pension coverage begins in the second year of employment.
