Role overview
The Crewing Officer will support the daily staffing and personnel coordination needs of diving operations for vessels, barges, and project work in Abu Dhabi. Working with general supervision, this position helps manage crew deployment, rotations, and movement planning for offshore activities while supporting the crewing team in day-to-day execution.
Key responsibilities
- Build and keep an up-to-date master certification register for approved diving and related offshore personnel, linked with the personnel management system.
- Track crew rotation schedules and make sure agreed crewing plans are carried out.
- Verify that diving certificates and personnel records are authentic and aligned with HSE, IMCA, and company standards.
- Work with the Diving Operations Manager to plan crew changes and any short-notice movement of diving personnel.
- Coordinate with Project Managers to forecast and arrange personnel needs for current and future diving projects.
- Check visa and work permit needs in advance so processing time supports project timelines.
- Record all personnel movements and work details accurately and forward them for payroll processing.
- Arrange travel and accommodation for offshore personnel whenever needed.
- Coordinate with other logistics teams to make crew changes as efficient as possible.
Additional duties and performance expectations
- Support managers in employee relations matters and disciplinary investigations, including hearings and appeals, while maintaining a professional approach.
- Respond to questions from diving personnel about employment-related issues.
- Review and approve suitable compensation changes and recommendations, and process and verify expense claims from personnel.
- Contribute ideas for hiring approaches and staffing strategy.
- Create and maintain dashboards and reports that present crewing data clearly for sharing and analysis, with attention to efficiency and cost control across travel, overlap, and other crew-related expenses.
- Help prepare and manage crew training and development plans.
Required competencies
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools.
- Clear and effective communication in English.
- Good numerical skills, practical reasoning, and the ability to write reports creatively and accurately.
- Strong coordination skills and the ability to work across multiple departments.
- Capability to work independently and deliver results consistently.
Compensation and location
The salary for this role is AED 7,000 to AED 8,000 per month. The position is based in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
