Role summary
Dexterra is hiring a dependable, detail-oriented Commercial Cleaner for its military base location in Kingston. The role is focused on keeping the facility clean and presentable to a very high standard. Day shifts are available.
Pay: $18 per hour
Key duties
- Clean and disinfect areas such as medical spaces, offices, classrooms, washrooms, conference rooms, corridors, and fitness rooms.
- Respond to urgent calls using a radio or pager.
- Escalate issues, incidents, and maintenance deficiencies to management.
- Remove dust from surfaces, including items at floor level and furniture where needed.
- Perform spot-cleaning on walls, partitions, light switches, doors, and window sills.
- Polish chrome and other shiny metal finishes.
- Sanitize washroom fixtures using mild cleaning products.
- Wet-mop small hard-surface floor areas.
- Attend mandatory health and safety training and use personal protective equipment whenever required.
Qualifications
- Previous commercial cleaning experience is preferred but not essential.
- A fingerprint-based security clearance is required to work on the military base.
- A clean criminal record is mandatory.
- Applicants must be able to provide two government-issued IDs, including one with a photograph.
