Civil Inspector

Role overview

The Civil Inspector is tasked with overseeing and checking civil and infrastructure works at the project site, making sure the execution aligns with approved documents, required quality benchmarks, and applicable regulations. This position also helps coordinate between different disciplines and supports readiness of infrastructure for the next construction phases.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out inspections for civil works such as foundations, roads, drainage, paving, trenches, and equipment bases.
• Confirm that construction activities follow approved drawings, technical specifications, and quality procedures.
• Assess and respond promptly to WIRs, MIRs, and RFIs.
• Track site progress and compare completed work with the planned schedule.
• Work with architectural, structural, and MEP teams to resolve interface-related issues.
• Check materials delivered to site and verify that only approved materials are installed.
• Spot defects and NCRs, and follow up to ensure corrective measures are completed.
• Keep accurate inspection records, logs, documentation, and photo evidence.
• Support snagging activities, defect closure, and final handover inspections.
• Maintain compliance with environmental, safety, and quality requirements.

Profile requirements

• A bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• Prior experience in civil construction inspection and infrastructure works is expected.
• Background in industrial, infrastructure, or data centre projects is an advantage.
• Good understanding of civil construction techniques and materials is necessary.
• Familiarity with inspection workflows, QA/QC practices, and project documentation is important.
• UPDA certification is preferred.
• Strong coordination and communication abilities are needed.
