Role overview
This role sits under the Construction Manager and focuses on overseeing civil works at a site that is close to existing SPPG tunnel, GTP and PUB infrastructure. The position requires hands-on coordination across client, consultant, and subcontractor/vendor teams while maintaining strong control over execution quality and site compliance.
Key duties
- Support the Construction Manager and take responsibility for day-to-day management of assigned construction activities.
- Supervise works carried out near sensitive existing infrastructure, including SPPG tunnel, GTP, and PUB areas.
- Act as a coordination point between the client, consultant, and subcontractor/vendor teams.
- Monitor site activities through regular inspections and checks to ensure work is progressing correctly.
- Identify, assess, and resolve technical and engineering issues that arise on site.
- Make sure all work follows the required safety procedures and regulatory standards.
- Verify that construction operations meet quality, environmental, health, and safety expectations.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records for construction activities.
- Work effectively with the wider project team and demonstrate strong interpersonal collaboration.
Requirements
- A Civil Engineering degree recognised by the Singapore PE Board is required.
- Must be registered as a Resident Engineer with IES/BCA and hold a valid Singapore certification.
- At least 5 years of engineering experience is needed for candidates with the required civil engineering degree.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in construction supervision for vehicular structures and road projects.
- Applicants should be progress-driven and comfortable working as part of a team.
- Strong technical understanding of civil engineering construction, particularly piling and reinforced concrete works, is expected.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD is required.
- Knowledge or certification in CSCPM, BCSS, confined space, and work-at-height safety is needed.
- Candidates should be self-driven and able to provide effective leadership.
