Overview
This is a project-based opportunity with Mindrift, where subject-matter experts support the testing, evaluation, and refinement of AI systems for major technology clients. The work is not a permanent role and is handled on a per-project basis.

What the work may involve
- Creating original computational chemistry challenges that reflect real research-style workflows in chemistry.
- Writing problems that require Python-based solutions, including the use of numpy, scipy, and chemistry-focused libraries.
- Building tasks that are computationally demanding and cannot be solved manually in a practical amount of time, such as days or weeks.
- Developing problem sets that call for multi-step reasoning in physical chemistry, quantum chemistry, and molecular modelling.
- Grounding questions in genuine research scenarios or practical chemistry applications.
- Checking answers through Python and standard computational chemistry methods.
- Preparing clear problem statements and supplying verified correct solutions.

This role is intended for chemistry professionals with Python experience who are open to part-time, non-permanent project work. The preferred background includes chemistry or a related subject, numerical work in chemistry, and familiarity with computational methods.
Engagement details
Active project phases are expected to involve roughly 10 to 20 hours per week. This is only an estimate and is not a guaranteed weekly workload. The schedule applies only while the project is live.
Compensation
Contributors may earn up to the equivalent of $45 per hour, depending on experience and contribution pace. Pay can differ from one project to another based on scope, complexity, and the expertise required.
Process
The workflow is: apply, complete the qualification step(s), join a project, finish the assigned tasks, and receive payment.
