Job Purpose
This role exists to help deliver inflight catering operations smoothly while maintaining strong standards for quality, cost efficiency, compliance, and passenger service across the network.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in rolling out and tracking inflight catering standards, procedures, and policies so service quality remains consistent and regulatory expectations are met at all stations.
- Carry out scheduled and surprise inspections of catering products, equipment, packaging, and service delivery to verify hygiene, safety, and quality compliance.
- Assess catering performance using cabin crew feedback, reports, and audit findings, then identify shortcomings and recommend corrective measures.
- Work with Cabin Crew, Flight Operations, Engineering, and outside service partners to quickly resolve issues connected to catering, equipment, and onboard service.
- Examine uplift data, stock positions, duty-free sales, and usage trends to strengthen inventory control, support cost management, and align with revenue goals.
- Maintain control over onboard equipment and catering stock by performing regular checks for shortages, damage, and record mismatches.
- Support improvements that raise passenger satisfaction, upgrade onboard product standards, and streamline service delivery without sacrificing cost control.
- Review the quality of food and beverage items served onboard and coordinate with catering partners to fix repeated issues, gaps, or failures to meet standards.
- Take part in cross-functional discussions to support service enhancements, new initiatives, and other operational improvements related to inflight services.
- Ensure SLA compliance, follow internal procedures, and meet audit requirements while reviewing invoices, sales records, and customer feedback for inconsistencies or opportunities to improve.
- Prepare precise reports and management updates that summarize trends, risks, and recommendations for service improvement.
Requirements
- A Higher Secondary Certificate or diploma may be accepted if backed by relevant function-specific experience; however, a bachelor’s degree in Travel, Tourism, Hotel Management, or a related field is preferred.
- Working knowledge of inflight catering processes, food safety, hygiene standards, and service-quality expectations.
- Strong analytical and planning abilities to handle stock control, catering monitoring, and cost-efficiency tasks.
- Capability to conduct inspections, quality reviews, and compliance checks against internal and regulatory standards.
- Good communication and coordination skills for dealing with cabin crew, catering partners, and internal teams.
- Problem-solving mindset, customer orientation, and close attention to detail.
- Comfort with basic reporting tools and systems used in catering operations.
- At least 2 years of relevant experience in an airline, hospitality, or similar service environment, including knowledge of food handling, hygiene, catering accounting, and supervisory/administrative work.
