Role summary

This part-time, on-site Budtender position is based in Moapa and reports to the Retail Store Manager. The role is classified as non-exempt within the Retail department. The advertised pay rate is $15.00 per hour.

What the role involves

The Budtender supports dispensary operations by creating a positive customer experience and helping patients and consumers understand cannabis products. The position combines customer service, product education, order processing, payment handling, compliance support, and day-to-day store upkeep.

• Welcome patients, confirm eligibility, and record allotment details in the point-of-sale system.
• Provide clear education and recommendations about cannabis products and how they are used.
• Assist customers in choosing appropriate products while following all compliance requirements.
• Enter orders and process payments accurately through POS software.
• Operate the cash register, including closing procedures, reconciliations, and deposit preparation.
• Help keep the dispensary tidy, organized, and professional for both customers and staff.
• Support additional functions such as administration and packaging when needed.
• Contribute to daily store operations, including replenishment and compliance-related tasks.

Supervision

No supervisory duties are assigned to this position.

Qualifications

• Candidates must be 21 years of age or older.
• A Facility Agent Card must be obtainable and maintainable under Arizona state requirements.
• Prior experience of at least 1 year in retail, customer service, or a similar field is preferred.
• Applicants should understand medical cannabis and its various consumption methods.
• Knowledge of Arizona cannabis products and purchase limits is preferred.
• Familiarity with state cannabis rules and dispensary compliance procedures is important.
• The role requires comfort using POS systems and basic software tools.
• Strong communication and customer-facing skills are needed.
• The ideal candidate is reliable, punctual, calm under pressure, and comfortable in a fast-paced retail setting.
• A collaborative, positive attitude is expected.

Education and credentials

• A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
• No extra certifications are listed.

Physical requirements

• Ability to remain standing for long stretches, up to 8 hours.
• Capacity to lift and move items weighing up to 25 pounds.
• Manual dexterity and good vision are needed for product handling and POS work.

Work environment

• The work takes place in a cannabis retail dispensary.
• Employees may experience strong odors, moderate noise, and frequent customer interaction.
• PPE may be required depending on the task or supporting department work.
