Role Overview
Reporting to the CTO and working alongside the VP of Digital Health Technology, you will design and build backend capabilities for the Vitalograph Digital Health Platform. The role involves creating and supporting services that power web and mobile applications, while partnering with engineering, product, hardware, and regulatory teams to ensure the software meets relevant standards and supports better patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Build, test, support, and improve backend services for a full digital health solution.
- Develop server-side application logic and the infrastructure behind application and API functionality.
- Create, maintain, and tune databases to protect data accuracy and application performance.
- Design and support RESTful or GraphQL APIs that enable smooth frontend-backend communication.
- Develop independent backend services for a plug-and-play platform.
- Work closely with app and web engineers to integrate all system components effectively.
- Create real-time backend solutions using C#, .NET, SQL Server, Java, Python, and Node.
- Investigate bugs, resolve issues, and optimize backend performance.
- Keep up with new technologies, industry practices, and emerging backend trends.
- Follow Vitalograph SOPs and ensure all work remains compliant with internal standards.
- Perform detailed code reviews to maintain quality and align with best practices and industry expectations.
Minimum Requirements
- A degree in Computer Science or a similar engineering discipline that includes software development.
- At least 3 years of experience working as a backend developer.
- Strong analytical thinking and the ability to troubleshoot complicated technical problems.
- Hands-on expertise with SQL databases, Java, Python, and Node.
- Experience using Git-based source control and code review tools.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Microsoft technologies such as .NET Core, Web API, and SQL Server.
- Knowledge of RESTful API design and microservices-based architecture.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and contribute positively as a team member.
