Role Overview
This position is responsible for overseeing the upkeep and reliability of air-conditioning, electrical, mechanical, kitchen, and building systems at the Singapore site. The role focuses on keeping equipment running safely and efficiently, reducing downtime, and supporting smooth daily operations.
Maintenance Operations and Equipment Reliability
- Direct the day-to-day servicing and upkeep of ACMV systems, M&E equipment, kitchen appliances, and building facilities so operations remain safe and uninterrupted.
- Guide and manage preventive, corrective, and urgent maintenance activities for air-conditioning, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and other building services.
- Identify and resolve electrical issues such as power interruptions, circuit breakdowns, and other mechanical/electrical faults.
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair commercial kitchen systems, including cooking units, refrigeration equipment, exhaust systems, and related appliances.
- Service and troubleshoot air-conditioning systems, and arrange larger repair works when specialist support is needed.
- Analyze equipment breakdowns, determine the underlying causes, and apply fixes that help avoid repeat failures.
- Work with operations teams to schedule maintenance in a way that limits disruption to business activities.
Facilities and Asset Management
- Create and execute preventive maintenance plans that improve reliability and extend the working life of assets.
- Keep detailed records of maintenance work, inspections, equipment service history, and supporting documentation.
- Track spare-parts levels and make sure essential maintenance items are available when needed.
- Arrange statutory inspections, servicing, testing, and certifications with contractors, Professional Engineers, Authorized Examiners, and relevant authorities.
- Handle emergency repair work, planned shutdowns, equipment installations, and facility upgrade projects.
Team Leadership and Contractor Coordination
- Oversee maintenance technicians, contractors, and external service partners.
- Assign manpower and resources so maintenance tasks are finished safely, efficiently, and on time.
- Provide technical direction and practical coaching to members of the maintenance team.
- Run toolbox meetings and review contractor performance to ensure company standards are met.
Safety and Compliance
- Ensure all maintenance work follows Workplace Safety & Health rules, legal requirements, and internal company policies.
- Apply safe work controls such as Permit-to-Work procedures and risk assessments.
- Carry out regular checks to spot safety risks, maintenance concerns, and opportunities to improve processes.
Requirements
- A diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services, Facilities Management, or a similar field.
- At least 3 years of supervisory experience in ACMV, facilities management, or M&E maintenance.
- Practical experience diagnosing and repairing air-conditioning systems, electrical faults including power trips, commercial kitchen equipment, and general building services.
- Strong understanding of preventive maintenance planning, contractor oversight, and statutory compliance.
- Well-developed troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Working familiarity with WSH requirements and accepted maintenance practices.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office for reporting and documentation.
- Good leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- A Class 3 driving licence would be an advantage.
