Role summary
The Vice President of Learning & Development is a senior enterprise leader accountable for shaping Advarra’s global strategy for learning, workforce capability, and organizational development. This executive role acts as the organization’s highest authority on capability building and ensures learning investments are directly tied to business strategy, innovation, regulatory excellence, and sustainable growth.
As part of the HR leadership team and a strategic partner to the CHRO and Executive Leadership Team, this person will define the enterprise learning vision, governance approach, and operating model across a complex regulated business. The role brings together leadership development, compliance learning, and broader organizational capability building into one cohesive employee learning experience.
The position also chairs the Learning Council, helps set enterprise priorities, and holds full responsibility for learning strategy, learning technology, governance, budget, and results across the company.
Key responsibilities
The role includes leading enterprise learning strategy, guiding executive workforce planning, building organizational capability frameworks, and overseeing leadership development, compliance learning, learning technologies, measurement, budget management, vendor partnerships, and team leadership.
Work location
This position is available to candidates working remotely within the United States.
Qualifications
Applicants should bring extensive experience in learning and development or related people-development disciplines, along with senior-level executive leadership experience and a record of building enterprise-wide talent strategies. Strong influence with C-suite stakeholders, experience in regulated settings, and familiarity with learning analytics and digital transformation are important.
Preferred background includes experience in healthcare, life sciences, clinical research, or technology-enabled services, plus exposure to enterprise transformation, change management, or workforce strategy. An advanced degree and certifications such as CPTD or SHRM-SCP are also preferred.
Physical and mental requirements
The job may require prolonged sitting or standing at a workstation, regularly lifting or carrying objects up to 10 lbs., following basic instructions, maintaining focus on assigned duties, and communicating effectively through listening, speaking, and responding.

Compensation and benefits
The base pay range for this role is $162,000 to $266,000 per year. Actual pay may differ depending on location, skills, and experience. The role may also qualify for a variable bonus, along with health coverage, paid holidays, and other benefits.
