Theoretical Physicist - AI Trainer

About the role

This position is for a theoretical physicist who can contribute to training AI systems. The work centers on using subject-matter expertise in physics to guide, review, and improve model responses.

A completed or currently pursued Master’s or PhD is preferred, though it is not mandatory. Applicants from closely related disciplines may also be considered, including astrophysics, biophysics, electrical engineering, nuclear engineering, chemical engineering, and mathematics.

What you can expect

As an independent contractor, you can pick the projects you want to take on and decide when you work. The role is designed for flexible scheduling, and you can complete tasks on your own computer from wherever you are working.

Compensation starts at hourly rates of USD 40+ on eligible projects, with some assignments offering higher bonus rates.

Responsibilities

• Create and review writing and editing tasks for AI chatbots.
• Assess AI-generated responses for accuracy and overall quality.
• Judge whether model outputs perform correctly against the expected standard.

Qualifications

• Strong English ability at native or bilingual level.
• Careful attention to detail.
• Solid understanding of classical mechanics, electromagnetism, thermodynamics, and introductory quantum physics.
• Master’s and/or PhD status, whether completed or in progress, is preferred but not compulsory.
