About the Role
Traveloka’s engineering organization powers the products behind a travel platform used by millions of people. This position sits within the Central Tech team and focuses on building backend systems that are fast, dependable, and able to scale under heavy demand. The work involves tackling complex engineering problems across distributed systems, APIs, and high-traffic services, with a strong emphasis on performance and reliability.
The team is looking for an engineer who enjoys working on robust backend architecture, improving existing platforms, and helping shape technical solutions for large-scale products.
What You Will Do
- Create, develop, and support backend services, APIs, and data integrations that can scale effectively.
- Produce code that is clear, efficient, and easy to maintain, while following established engineering standards.
- Refine current systems to raise performance, stability, and overall reliability.
- Track system health, investigate technical issues, and react quickly to alerts.
- Work closely with teams across the business to deliver impactful solutions.
- Take part in code review cycles, unit testing, and integration testing to uphold quality.
- Join architecture planning discussions and suggest practical improvements for systems handling large traffic volumes.
- Support incident reviews and help strengthen system resilience over time.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from a well-regarded university.
- At least 5 years of experience in software engineering, with a strong focus on backend development.
- Hands-on proficiency in Go, Java, or Python.
- Ability to work deeply across backend services with attention to efficiency, scalability, and long-term maintainability.
- Experience building architectures that can scale and remain easy to manage.
- A genuine interest in continuous learning, whether in technology, product, or related areas.
- Strong ownership and accountability for assigned work and product outcomes.
- Strong command of English, both spoken and written.
