Role overview

Creative Support is hiring a qualified joiner to join its mobile maintenance team in Greater Manchester and across the North West. The role suits someone who is dependable, adaptable, practical and takes pride in delivering quality workmanship. You will be part of a friendly maintenance group supporting multiple sites in the organisation’s portfolio.

Pay and working arrangement

This is a full-time, onsite position paying £30,000 per year. The mobile maintenance team reports to the Stockport head office every Monday morning at 8:30 AM for a maintenance meeting and may attend additional meetings there as needed.

Main purpose of the role

You will deliver a high-standard first-response maintenance service and work respectfully in tenants’ homes. The role also involves supporting colleagues when needed, including tasks outside your core trade.

What the job involves

• Carrying out first-line maintenance work across several sites in the property portfolio.
• Repairing, maintaining or replacing kitchen units in tenants’ flats after leaks.
• Fixing, maintaining or replacing timber fittings such as doors and locks.
• Preparing finished surfaces by sanding, staining or varnishing.
• Supporting other engineers when work outside your trade needs to be completed.
• Contributing to the on-call rota and taking part in call-outs when required.

Tools, travel and schedule

A full driving licence is essential. A vehicle will be provided for work use. The team’s main area of work is Greater Manchester and the wider North West.

Applicants should bring practical joinery experience and be comfortable working in a tenant-facing environment. The organisation is looking for someone who is courteous, reliable, flexible and hardworking.
