Role Overview
Based in Perth or Kuala Lumpur, this role is responsible for leading procurement activities across the APAC region. The Procurement Manager will drive end-to-end sourcing and purchasing processes, work with internal teams and suppliers, and help ensure that procurement supports project delivery, compliance, and cost efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full procurement cycle for the assigned scope.
- Source materials, equipment, and services in a timely and cost-conscious manner.
- Create, improve, and apply procurement policies, procedures, and operating practices that strengthen efficiency and compliance.
- Build and sustain strong supplier partnerships to support dependable supply and service quality.
- Review supplier performance and implement corrective or improvement actions where needed.
- Negotiate supplier contracts and commercial terms to secure advantageous outcomes.
- Spot opportunities to reduce costs and improve procurement workflows.
- Track procurement spending and keep activity aligned with budget expectations.
- Define and monitor KPIs that reflect procurement effectiveness and savings achieved.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to make sure procurement activity matches business requirements.
- Support projects by ensuring materials and services are sourced on schedule for new initiatives.
- Promote collaboration and clear communication across departments to reach shared objectives.
- Identify procurement risks, including supply disruption and regulatory non-compliance, and work to reduce them.
- Ensure procurement activity follows HSE requirements.
- Stay current with relevant industry regulations, standards, and best practices.
- Guide, coach, and develop procurement team members and high-potential employees.
- Manage ethics and risk mapping across the company’s operational footprint.
- Prepare procurement status reports for business line leaders and project managers.
Requirements
- At least 7 to 10+ years of experience in end-to-end supply chain, logistics, or operations, ideally across multiple APAC countries.
- Experience working in a regulated, complex, or asset-intensive industry.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline.
- APICS certification such as CSCP or CPIM, or CIPS, or Lean Six Sigma certification is preferred.
