Role overview
This contract position is based in London, with most work carried out in person in and around North London. The job is split fairly evenly between personal/operational support and content support, so it suits someone who can switch smoothly between the two areas and keep both moving without losing momentum.
Operational support
Part of the role involves keeping day-to-day life and logistics under control. You’ll help manage calendars, travel plans, meeting scheduling, inbox sorting, errands, household coordination, and the many small issues that can otherwise consume the day. The emphasis is on staying one step ahead so things do not fall through the cracks.
Content support
The other half focuses on content work. This includes drafting, polishing, and organising materials across Substack, social channels, and founder/investor communications; keeping content calendars up to date; managing digital files and assets; and carrying out light research on portfolio companies and market themes.
What the role values
Success in this position depends more on initiative, good judgment, and discretion than on simply ticking boxes. A strong sense of taste and the ability to act proactively are especially important.
Rate
The hourly rate is £20–30, depending on experience.
Qualifications
- You should be able to communicate clearly and confidently in writing and speaking with both internal teams and outside contacts.
- You need strong editing and writing skills for emails, social copy, and short-form web content, with enough judgment to spot something that feels off before it is flagged.
- Experience handling, publishing, and monitoring content through different tools and workflows is important.
- You should be comfortable planning content topics, schedules, and simple messaging that fits the brand.
- Excellent organisation, time management, and attention to detail are essential.
- You must be based in London and available to work in person regularly.
- Discretion is critical, especially when dealing with sensitive or confidential information.
- Background knowledge of startups, venture capital, or the wider entrepreneurial space would be an advantage.
- You should be comfortable using Google Workspace and project management tools.
