Operating Technician Batchmaker

Role overview

As an Operating Technician Batchmaker, you will be a key contributor on the manufacturing floor, preparing and blending raw materials according to precise process instructions to produce industrial or architectural colorant batches. The role also involves handling a range of manufacturing activities and helping sustain a workplace that is safe, orderly, and efficient.

What you'll do

• Pick, measure, and prepare raw materials for production.
• Use batch instructions to load materials into high-speed mixers and create blended batches.
• Carry out lab corrections, add approved samples, and retain sample material from daily premixes.
• Run paint-production control systems and equipment such as high-speed dispersers, pumps, valves, battery chargers, drum handling tools, and forklifts in a safe and efficient way.
• Check raw materials and finished products for quality.
• Work in line with company policies and standard operating procedures.
• Maintain equipment records, complete minor fixes, and escalate breakdowns promptly.
• Keep production logs and other required reports up to date.
• Partner with other teams to deliver production orders on schedule.
• Track stock levels and restock parts and supplies when needed.
• Support teammates with technical guidance and training.
• Share practical ideas to improve manufacturing methods and efficiency.
• Keep tools, machinery, and the work area clean, safe, and organized every day.

Qualifications and requirements

• You must be at least 18 years old.
• You must already have legal authorization to work in the country without current or future sponsorship for a work visa.
• Prior experience of at least 1 year in a manufacturing or distribution environment is preferred.
• Prior experience of at least 1 year reading gauges, dials, or similar machine indicators is preferred.
• Prior experience of at least 1 year operating machinery in a manufacturing or distribution setting is preferred.
• Prior experience of at least 1 year checking the quality of raw materials or finished goods is preferred.
• Prior experience of at least 1 year using material-handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, order pickers, vacu-hoists, drum dollies, or conveyor belts is preferred.
• Prior experience of at least 1 year mixing or blending raw materials in an industrial batch process is preferred.

Additional information

This role may be eligible for a performance-based bonus, subject to the terms of the company’s applicable plans.
