Role Overview

This entry-level Manager Trainee role sits within Reporting Operations, specifically the Liquidity Reporting function. The work supports the bank’s assessment of liquidity and funding risk through Basel-related measures and plays an important part in strengthening risk management, regulatory compliance, and the wider control environment. The position is based in the Regional/Group Reporting Operations team and may occasionally require stepping in for peers or team leads. It is not intended to participate as a standing member of any governance forum.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and examine liquidity-related reports, including LCR, NSFR, PRA 110, ILM, AMM, ALCO packs, and other outputs such as depositor concentration and term funding reporting.
• Work with in-country teams, so clear verbal and written communication is essential.
• Build a solid understanding of financial products, market-product specifics, and management reporting with a balance-sheet orientation, along with the regulatory landscape, including Basel III.
• Help implement new reports in line with the group framework.
• Make sure reports follow the standards and minimum control requirements defined by Risk Stewards.
• Raise issues and emerging risks promptly to senior stakeholders and team leads.
• Document the basis of preparation clearly for every part of the reporting process.
• Support regional or group reporting operations leadership as required.
• Develop familiarity with liquidity reporting tools and systems such as Moody’s, Finarch, and Big Data, and evaluate the effect of system changes caused by business or reporting updates.

What You Need to Succeed

• This is a graduate-level opportunity for candidates who are qualified Chartered Accountants, hold an MBA in Finance, or have an engineering degree with an interest in financial services.
• Ability to work with large datasets, identify trends and anomalies, and translate data into strategic insights.
• Comfort working to tight deadlines while maintaining speed and accuracy.
• Interest in or knowledge of Asset Liability Management, reporting, and regulatory change in a global setting is an advantage.
• Understanding of control frameworks and how to apply effective controls in practice.
• Strong attention to detail and a practical, solution-focused approach.
• Excellent spoken and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex ideas simply to a global audience.
• Strong planning and organisational ability, with the flexibility to adapt quickly when priorities shift.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel.
• Exposure to banking systems and regulatory reporting frameworks is preferred but not mandatory.
• Understanding of financial products, core accounting principles, banking operations, balance sheets, and income statements is preferred but not essential.
