Logistics Manager

Role Overview

This position is responsible for driving site logistics performance on major construction projects. You will coordinate the movement of personnel, materials, equipment, and on-site operations so that project activities stay efficient, disruptions are kept to a minimum, and logistics support the construction sequence and priorities.

Location and Interview Availability

The assignment is based in Ras Laffan, Qatar.

• Priority will be given to candidates who are already in the UAE and can attend in-person interviews with the client.
• Applicants should be able to take up the role within a reasonable period, subject to their notice period.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee all logistics functions for large building construction projects at site level.
• Organize the movement of materials by managing delivery timing, receiving, storage, handling, distribution, and just-in-time supply methods.
• Control site access, transport, storage areas, lifting activities, and traffic movement while staying aligned with project schedules, safety rules, and quality standards.
• Prepare and execute construction logistics strategies, including site layouts, storage and laydown areas, temporary facilities, and logistics planning tied to project milestones and sequencing.
• Work closely with procurement, construction teams, and subcontractors to keep site operations running smoothly.

Requirements and Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in engineering, logistics, construction management, or a closely related field is required.
• At least 10 years of relevant experience in large-scale building construction projects is needed, ideally across residential, accommodation, mixed-use, institutional, or similarly complex developments.
• Hands-on experience in preparing and implementing logistics plans for construction sites is essential.
• Experience in traffic management planning, including routing, delivery timing, vehicle movement coordination, and heavy vehicle control, is required.
• Experience in crane operations and lifting coordination, including lifting plans, method statements, and lifting schedules, is necessary.
• Background in site access management, including staff, vehicle, and visitor access systems, gate procedures, permit controls, and security processes is expected.
• Strong knowledge of material flow planning, including delivery scheduling, receipt, storage, handling, distribution, and just-in-time logistics, is important.
• Experience managing coordination between procurement, construction, and subcontractor teams is required.
• Familiarity with planning and scheduling software such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Asta Powerproject, or Oracle Primavera Cloud is required.
• Experience using ERP and procurement platforms such as SAP ERP, Oracle ERP, Oracle JD Edwards, Microsoft Dynamics 365, or IFS Applications is expected.
• Knowledge of material tracking, warehouse systems, and fleet tracking tools, including barcode or QR-based tracking, RFID, WMS, digital delivery systems, GPS monitoring, or inventory systems, is needed.
• MMUP/UPDA registration is required where applicable.
• Candidates based in Qatar are preferred.
• Excellent written and spoken English communication skills are required.
• Experience of 10 to 20 years in major construction projects is preferred.
• Prior experience in Qatar is highly preferred, while GCC experience may also be considered.
• Understanding of local authority procedures and familiarity with major clients and consultants in Qatar will be an advantage.
