Position Summary

The Leadperson role is responsible for coordinating daily shop work according to production schedules and making sure the required materials, tools, and equipment are ready so the assigned work can be completed efficiently.

Key Duties

This role involves guiding employees through daily tasks, carrying out instructions from the Production Supervisor, preparing jobs ahead of time for the line, checking that fabrication methods and quality standards are being followed, relaying non-conforming product concerns to production staff, stepping in for the Production Supervisor when needed, and keeping the fabrication area orderly while ensuring 5S practices are followed.

Qualifications and Skills

A high school diploma or GED is required at minimum. Fabrication experience is preferred. The position also calls for basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office, along with strong communication, organization, multitasking, safety awareness, and a focus on quality and excellence.

Work Conditions

This is a hands-on role in a manufacturing setting where the employee may need to stand, walk, talk, hear, use hands and arms frequently, and occasionally sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Vision abilities such as close, distance, and peripheral vision are also needed. The work environment is typically loud, includes regular exposure to moving mechanical parts, and may involve periods of high heat. Occasional exposure may include wet or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outdoor weather, and vibration. Appropriate safety protective equipment may be required.

Travel

Travel for this position is minimal and is expected to be less than 5%.

Compensation

The hourly pay range for this position is $18.21 to $22.16, with the exact rate based on experience, skills, and qualifications.
