About the Role
We are looking for an organized, detail-focused Human Resources Assistant to support a growing team in Alberta, Canada. This position is part of a workplace that values professionalism, inclusion, and strong employee support. In this role, you will help keep HR operations running smoothly by assisting with recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, record-keeping, compliance tasks, and internal communication.
The role suits someone who enjoys working with people, can manage multiple priorities, and understands the importance of accurate, confidential HR administration. You will work closely with the HR team to support day-to-day processes and help ensure company policies and employment requirements are followed.
Recruitment and Hiring Support
- Help run the hiring process by sharing job postings, reviewing applications, and arranging interviews.
- Coordinate interview schedules and keep candidates informed during each stage of hiring.
- Draft offer letters, employment contracts, and onboarding documents.
- Keep recruitment files and applicant tracking records up to date.
Onboarding and HR Administration
- Organize onboarding and orientation for new hires.
- Prepare employee files and confirm that all required paperwork is complete and properly stored.
- Respond to employee questions and requests related to HR.
- Maintain accurate employee databases, records, and filing systems.
HR Operations and Compliance
- Make sure employee information stays current, correct, and aligned with internal policies and legal standards.
- Support the tracking of HR procedures and compliance requirements.
- Assist with HR reports, metrics, and related documentation.
- Help apply employee policies, handbook guidelines, and workplace procedures.
Employee Engagement and Support
- Assist with employee engagement activities, training sessions, and company events.
- Support performance review administration and employee development initiatives.
- Coordinate internal HR communications and announcements.
- Build positive working relationships across departments.
General Administrative Support
- Handle HR correspondence, calendars, and meeting scheduling.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and other HR documents.
- Organize and safeguard confidential personnel records.
- Provide administrative assistance to the HR Manager and leadership team when needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma, or an Associate's or Bachelor's degree.
- Strong ability to organize tasks and manage several priorities at once.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills.
- Comfort using Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to treat sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
- Strong accuracy and attention to detail.
