Role overview
Busy Bees is seeking a Nursery Housekeeper to help maintain a safe, spotless, and welcoming setting for children, families, and the team. This role plays an important part in keeping the nursery environment hygienic, comfortable, and ready for daily learning and play.
About Busy Bees
Busy Bees is one of the UK’s largest nursery groups, operating close to 400 nurseries in the UK and additional sites overseas. The organisation focuses on helping every child get the best possible start and is recognised for its award-winning workplace culture, where colleagues are encouraged to feel supported, appreciated, and heard.
Why this role stands out
Joining Busy Bees means becoming part of a nurturing and collaborative workplace that supports the creation of engaging educational spaces for young children. Team members are also introduced to the Bee Curious curriculum, which is designed to build curiosity and confidence in early learners. The organisation also supports community initiatives through its partnership with BBC Children in Need.
Nursery environment
This opportunity is based at Busy Bees in Stotfold, an Ofsted-rated Good nursery with capacity for 64 children. The setting has a smaller team, creating a close-knit, family-style atmosphere, and the converted-house premises add to the homely feel. The nursery works with local authorities to support further training and development. The location is in a small town with bus links to larger towns, sits beside a CO-OP with electric vehicle charging points, and includes free parking. Flexible working options are available, including a four-day working week. The nursery also offers weekly lunches, breakfasts, or sweet treats, plus an Employee of the Month recognition programme.
Responsibilities
- Partner with the nursery team to keep all areas clean and hygienic to a high standard.
- Follow health and safety procedures carefully while carrying out cleaning duties.
Requirements
- No formal qualification is needed for this role.
- Previous experience in housekeeping or a cleaning position is preferred.
- A keen eye for detail and a strong commitment to cleanliness are important.
- You should be approachable, dependable, and able to adapt when needed.
Benefits
- Competitive pay package
- Training, development, and career growth opportunities
- Access to the Hive benefits and wellbeing platform with retail discounts
- Up to 28 days of holiday per year, including bank holidays
- Your birthday off as an extra reward
- 25% childcare discount
- Enhanced family leave and a return-to-work bonus
- Menopause support via Peppy
- Financial support through Salary Finance
- Employee Assistance Programme and Mental Health First Aiders
- Cycle to Work scheme
- Access to workplace pension through Cushon

Additional information
Alongside the listed benefits, the Hive platform also provides a wide range of retail discounts, a wellbeing hub with resources for physical and mental health, a Celebrating You section for recognition, and a Grow with Us area highlighting development and training opportunities. This is an opportunity to contribute to a community-focused nursery while developing your career in early childhood education support.
How to succeed in the role
The ideal candidate will be someone who takes pride in maintaining an inviting, orderly environment and can work well alongside nursery staff to support the daily running of the setting.
