Role overview
This is an hourly contract position for a Grocery Shopper Expert working remotely from the United Kingdom. The work commitment is flexible, ranging from 10 to 40 hours each week, and pay is offered at $35 to $50 per hour.
Key responsibilities
- Choose and source grocery items for both retail and wholesale use.
- Study market movement, customer demand, and what competitors are offering.
- Work with suppliers on pricing and agreements to improve margin and profitability.
- Maintain supplier partnerships so quality and stock availability remain steady.
- Track inventory closely and take early action when shortages or stock risks appear.
- Create buying approaches tailored to different product categories.
- Share updates, recommendations, and decisions clearly with teams across the business.
Requirements
- Prior background in retail, wholesale, procurement, or grocery buying.
- Proven ability in product selection, negotiation, and purchasing strategy.
- Strong analytical ability to assess market conditions and consumer trends.
- Experience handling supplier relationships and contract discussions.
- Clear written and spoken communication skills.
- Good inventory control knowledge and practice.
- Capacity to work independently in a remote and fast-moving setting.
