About Mycolever
Mycolever is building a platform for sustainable fungal biocompounds and using fungal biodiversity to strengthen the industrial bioeconomy. The work starts with a biosurfactant platform focused on replacing petrochemical surfactants with more sustainable alternatives. Through its compound discovery platform, the company develops highly functional biocompounds that help customers reduce environmental impact and contribute to a cleaner future.
Your Mission
As a Founder Associate Intern, you will work closely with the founding team and get exposure to venture-building from both the technology and business sides. This role is designed for someone who wants to contribute hands-on, learn directly from founders, and help move an early-stage company forward.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the founders with day-to-day priorities and help the company progress from an early stage.
- Work directly with the founding team and gain first-hand insight into what it takes to build a startup.
- Contribute to efforts that position Mycolever strongly in the market.
- Help execute go-to-market initiatives, including business case checks, expert conversations, marketing activities, sales support, and product launch preparation.
- Take on operational and process-related challenges, such as improving scalability, supporting project management, setting up sales workflows, and assisting with marketing execution.
- Participate in product development work, including software-related tasks or biotech process scale-up activities.
- Support fundraising activities by helping shape investor strategy, manage investor communication, and prepare compelling pitch materials.
- Join for a minimum commitment of 3 months.
Requirements
We are looking for someone who is currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in a relevant area such as business, management, business informatics, formulation chemistry, cosmetics, or a similar discipline. Previous internship exposure in startups, technology companies, or consulting is considered a plus. You should be fluent in English in a business setting, and German fluency may be needed for some roles. The ideal candidate is proactive, driven, comfortable taking initiative, and able to thrive in a fast-moving environment. Strong problem-solving ability and an authentic working style are important, whether you are more introverted, extroverted, analytical, or highly action-oriented. Most importantly, you should enjoy the ups and downs of building a venture.
Benefits
- Work setup can be hybrid or remote; Munich is preferred, and remote work includes occasional visits to the headquarters in Bonn/Rheinbach.
- Regular team events are part of the culture, including shared meals and other team-building activities.
- You will receive mentorship from experienced team members and access to selected networking events.
- The company offers strong growth opportunities in a fast-scaling environment, with room to develop either toward management or deeper specialist expertise.
Hiring Process
The selection process is designed to be clear and efficient and has three stages. It begins with a 30-minute introductory conversation with one of the founders to discuss your background and expectations. If successful, you will move on to a 60-minute deep-dive interview that includes a mini case study and a discussion of your previous projects. References are considered a plus.
Application Notes
You can apply with a simple application; no extensive documents are required. The company also emphasizes equal opportunity and a commitment to inclusion. Applicants are welcomed regardless of race, colour, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or any other protected characteristic. Candidates from underrepresented groups are especially encouraged to apply.
Additional Information
The role requires a minimum commitment of 3 months. Munich is the preferred location, but remote work is possible with occasional visits to the company headquarters in Bonn/Rheinbach.
Who can apply
Students currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field, preferably with some exposure to startups, technology companies, or consulting, are eligible. English fluency is required; German may be necessary for certain positions.
