Role Summary
This full-time, on-site Fire Services position is located in Bamra, Sambalpur, Odisha. The selected professional will oversee fire safety systems, check fire equipment routinely, and help ensure that the plant remains aligned with fire safety standards. The role is hands-on and operational, with responsibilities tied to prevention, inspection, emergency response, training, and reporting.
Key Duties
- Track the condition and readiness of fire protection systems across the facility.
- Carry out periodic checks of fire-fighting equipment and safety devices.
- Identify fire hazards and evaluate risks to recommend preventive actions.
- Help conduct emergency drills and safety preparedness exercises.
- Maintain extinguishers, hydrants, alarms, and related fire-safety assets.
- Prepare and update inspection records, incident notes, and other documentation.
- Respond promptly to fire alarms and emergency situations when required.
- Coordinate with internal departments and outside agencies during incidents.
- Support employees with basic fire-safety awareness and training sessions.
- Work alongside operations, maintenance, and safety teams to reduce fire risk and maintain a secure workplace.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Ability to analyze fire-risk situations, interpret safety information, and suggest preventive controls.
- Clear communication skills for training delivery, safety instructions, and emergency coordination.
- Service-oriented approach to address concerns from internal stakeholders professionally and calmly.
- Practical cost awareness to assist with budgeting for equipment, upkeep, and safety initiatives.
- Strong teamwork and problem-solving ability in fast-moving or high-pressure conditions.
- Previous exposure to fire services, emergency response, or industrial safety, ideally in manufacturing or heavy industry.
- Certification or diploma in Fire and Safety, Industrial Safety, or a similar discipline is preferred; extra training in first aid or disaster management is an advantage.
- Good physical fitness and willingness to work shifts, including nights, weekends, and on-call schedules.
