About the India Schools Team
The Schools Team works with government school systems to improve learning outcomes by helping teachers and students use the Khan Academy platform effectively. Through these partnerships, the team has reached 2 million learners in the past year across 65,000+ schools in multiple states, with a long-term goal of expanding to more than five million learners within five years. The team operates in a lean, collaborative manner, creating implementation plans, supporting partners at each stage, and strengthening adoption through training, peer learning, and data-informed iteration.
Role overview
Khan Academy India is seeking motivated professionals to join the Telangana team as District Coordinators and support programme implementation in government schools across assigned districts. You will work closely with school leadership and teachers to encourage strong adoption and day-to-day use of the platform. The role reports to the Senior Program Lead and is centered on field execution and partner support.
This position is based in one district in Yadadri Bhuvanagiri, Telangana, and will also cover one to two nearby districts. Additional details can be shared during the introduction call. The assignment is a 12-month contract role.
What you'll do
- Help drive district-level rollout of the programme across the assigned government schools.
- Support teacher trainings and orientation sessions, both online and offline.
- Follow up with schools to promote steady and effective platform adoption.
- Monitor progress against targets and highlight implementation gaps when they appear.
- Maintain working relationships with District Education Officers, principals, and teachers.
- Serve as a primary coordination contact for school-level stakeholders.
- Assist school management in planning, reviewing, and improving programme execution.
- Conduct frequent school visits and ensure weekly coverage of all assigned schools; travel reimbursements will be provided.
- Observe classroom usage and help teachers integrate Khan Academy into regular teaching practices.
- Spot challenges in adoption, usage, or understanding and take corrective action quickly.
- Strengthen ownership and accountability through regular engagement with school leaders and teachers.
- Ensure agreed implementation practices are followed consistently across schools.
- Collect usage data and school feedback and convert them into useful insights.
- Share structured updates with the central team and surface trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Keep clear records of trainings, school visits, and meetings.
- Submit accurate reports on time and coordinate with internal teams to address field issues.
- Support broader programme operations and contribute ideas to improve processes based on field learnings.
What we're looking for
The ideal candidate brings 2–4 years of relevant experience. Experience as an educator or work with government schools in Telangana will be an added advantage. You should be fluent in Telugu and English for reading, writing, and speaking.
We are looking for someone who can collaborate well with a range of stakeholders, handle on-ground implementation challenges, and make decisions aligned to programme goals. Strong organization, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple schools at once are important for this role.
You should also be comfortable documenting information from several sources, working with usage data and qualitative feedback, communicating clearly with teachers and government officials, and learning quickly in new environments. A strong sense of ownership, action orientation, and willingness to support the team wherever needed are essential. A genuine interest in education and improving student learning outcomes is also important. The role requires being based in Telangana and travelling extensively to visit assigned schools every week.
