About the Role
We are seeking a Data Scientist to help advance AI solutions across oncology, precision medicine, and drug development. This position sits within a collaborative, fast-growing environment where biomedical data is transformed into practical AI workflows.
You will partner with data scientists, engineers, scientists, and product stakeholders on research, experimentation, and model building across digital pathology, clinical data, and applications powered by large language models.
This opportunity is well suited for someone eager to grow in a multidisciplinary team, learn from experienced professionals, and contribute to technology that can shape the future of precision oncology.
Responsibilities
- Build and assess machine learning, deep learning, and LLM-based solutions for digital pathology and oncology datasets.
- Develop pipelines for data and model processing using biopsy images, clinical notes and records, reports, and other biomedical sources.
- Apply LLM platforms and AI coding assistants to speed up research, analysis, prototyping, and automation tasks.
- Plan experiments, measure model outcomes, and convert findings into concise, actionable insights.
- Work with data scientists, engineers, pathologists, and clinical specialists to turn research ideas into deployable AI products.
Requirements
- BSc or MSc in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related discipline.
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience building machine learning and deep learning algorithms.
- At least 3 years of experience developing instance segmentation models.
- At least 2 years of experience using LLMs and prompt engineering.
- Prior use of AI-assisted coding tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, or comparable tools.
- Strong analytical thinking, careful attention to detail, and a fast learning mindset.
- Must be located in the USA for this remote role.
Additional Information
This is a remote position based in the United States.
The role involves work at the intersection of oncology, precision medicine, digital pathology, and biomedical AI.
Applicants should be comfortable operating in a highly interdisciplinary setting and contributing to both research and product-oriented work.
Software Engineering and Computer Science are listed as preferred academic backgrounds.
Experience requirements include 5+ years in ML/DL development, 3+ years in instance segmentation, and 2+ years in LLMs/prompt engineering.
AI coding tools mentioned for the role include Cursor and Claude Code, or similar alternatives.
