About the role
This position sits within the Hardware Operations team and focuses on keeping the physical backbone of a large-scale technology environment running smoothly. The role involves working with server hardware, server software, networking equipment, and the systems that support a modern data center.
As a Data Center Technician, you will install, set up, test, troubleshoot, and maintain servers and related components. You will also work with more advanced networking equipment such as routers, hubs, bridges, switches, and associated protocols. In some cases, you may contribute to or coordinate small project teams for larger installations and help create contingency plans for those projects.
The work can include manual handling and placement of racks, so the role may be physically demanding at times. The environment is fast-paced and technology-driven, with a strong emphasis on maintaining reliable infrastructure.
In this individual contributor role within Data Center Technical Operations, you will handle core operations and deployment tasks for one functional area under close guidance. You will carry out basic troubleshooting, identify issues, follow documented procedures, and escalate unusual problems when needed. Over time, you will build knowledge of data security systems, operational workflows, and monitoring for potential security-related concerns.
The broader data center organization designs and runs highly advanced electrical and HVAC systems, and the team is described as collaborative, energetic, and focused on operating world-class facilities.
Minimum qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree or an equivalent level of practical work experience.

- Willingness and ability to work outside standard business hours, including weekends, holidays, and rotating shift schedules.
Preferred qualifications
- Background in technical support operations and network diagnostics.
- Experience with Linux administration, network infrastructure, hardware, and project management.
Key responsibilities
- Support deployment, maintenance, and ongoing operation of both existing and newly introduced data center servers and network infrastructure.
- Identify faults and repair damaged equipment, including servers, networking hardware, and storage devices.
- Set up and maintain switches, routers, and other large-scale networking equipment.
- Coordinate and lead projects as well as sub-functional teams when required.
