About the team

This position sits within the Go-to-Market Analytics group, where analysts and data scientists work together to understand Stripe’s worldwide economic influence. The role also partners closely with Communications to shape and defend Stripe’s public brand and thought leadership across markets.

Role overview

The Data Analyst, Economic Insights & Communications will connect economic analysis with public storytelling. The focus is on using Stripe data, supported by reliable pipelines and a solid data architecture, to uncover trends that show how Stripe contributes to economic growth. You will surface new insights about industries, cross-border commerce, and broader shifts in the economy, then help translate those findings into external and internal narratives.

Key responsibilities

• Work with Communications partners to define, plan, and drive research that highlights Stripe’s economic footprint.
• Share research outputs with both internal stakeholders and external audiences.
• Formulate hypotheses, test them quickly using Stripe data, and proactively highlight notable findings.
• Build, run, and improve data pipelines and dashboards that combine internal Stripe data with public external datasets.
• Create and track core metrics tied to economic impact.
• Analyze business drivers, customer segments, cohorts, and macroeconomic trends in depth.
• Help produce social content, blog posts, reports, briefings, and campaign materials based on Stripe data.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience in analytical work involving large datasets.
• A bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, Sciences, or another quantitative discipline.
• Strong SQL and Python skills, plus experience building and maintaining data pipelines with a distributed data framework.
• Experience creating self-serve dashboards or other scalable analytics tools for partner teams.
• Ability to turn data into narratives and visualizations suitable for external publication.

Preferred qualifications

• A master’s degree in a quantitative field and/or prior experience doing analytics work in the tech sector.
• Background working with institutions recognized by policymakers and the public for economic insight.
• Knowledge of survey design and analysis.

Work arrangement

This role can be performed from an office or from a remote location that is at least 35 miles (56 kilometers) away from a Stripe office. Employees assigned to an office are expected to spend at least 50% of each month in their local office or with users. Remote employees are expected to primarily work from home and may attend office visits for meetings, on-sites, and events. Stripe does not provide relocation support for moving to a remote location.

Pay and benefits

The annual base salary range in the US is $161,600 to $242,400. For candidates outside the US, the salary range for their location can be discussed during the interview process. Depending on the role level and candidate profile, the final offer may be adjusted based on experience, qualifications, and location. Additional benefits may include equity, company bonus or sales commissions/bonuses, a 401(k) plan, medical, dental, and vision coverage, and wellness stipends.
