Overview
This role sits within Nike’s brand communications function in Beaverton, Oregon. It is a 5-month contract position with a hybrid work setup and onsite expectations from Monday through Thursday.
Nike is looking for a communications professional who can help shape and share company and product information with both internal and external audiences. The environment is fast-moving, creative, and built for people who bring curiosity, initiative, and strong collaboration skills.
What you will do
- Build and maintain relationships with important media contacts while staying current on Nike news and updates.
- Handle assigned communications projects and events, and contribute ideas during team brainstorming sessions.
- Support internal teams, employees, and external partners by answering questions and sharing public relations information.
- Assist managers with media support during special events, photo shoots, interviews, and press conferences.
- Draft, research, and refine press releases, fact sheets, video materials, and talking points.
- Develop PR plans and coordinate with external PR agencies and freelance contributors.
- Research and evaluate media groups and outlets.
- Partner with communications leadership on budget administration, including invoicing, reporting, finance coordination, and regular team updates.
Requirements
- Usually requires a bachelor’s degree along with 2 to 4 years of experience in a role closely related to the work.
- Alternative academic and experience combinations may also be considered: PhD or Law degree with 1 year; Master’s degree with 0 to 3 years; associate degree with 1 to 3 years; or high school education with 3 to 5 years.
- Experience or interest in communications that support the Running business and brand.
- A strong personal interest in running is preferred.
- You should not speak as an on-the-record spokesperson unless a manager authorizes and trains you to do so.
Additional information
Work is structured as hybrid, with onsite presence required Monday through Thursday in Beaverton, OR. The assignment runs for 5 months.
The role involves coordination with finance, media, agencies, freelancers, and internal stakeholders, so the ability to organize details and communicate clearly is important.
