Role Overview
This position is for a Commis I within the Food and Beverage & Culinary function at Delta Hotels and Resorts in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. It is a full-time, non-management role based onsite. Job reference: 26075830.
Kitchen Duties
- Prepare specialty dishes and any substitute menu items when needed.
- Manage oven, broiler, grill, and roaster temperatures to keep cooking conditions accurate.
- Move frozen food into refrigeration for safe thawing.
- Plate food with correct portions and neat presentation, including garnish requirements.
- Keep food production records up to date.
- Check the quality and volume of food being prepared.
- Support the kitchen team during peak service periods.
- Advise the Chef about surplus ingredients that can be used in daily specials.
- Inform service colleagues about daily menu specials and items that are unavailable.
- Maintain food quality at the required standard.
- Cook and prepare dishes according to recipes, presentation rules, quality standards, and the food preparation checklist.
- Prepare cold food items as required.
Team Support and Conduct
- Assist management with hiring, onboarding, scheduling, evaluating, coaching, disciplining, and motivating team members.
- Set a strong example for colleagues through professional behavior.
- Follow all company, safety, and security procedures.
- Report maintenance issues, accidents, injuries, or unsafe conditions to the manager.
- Complete required safety training and certifications.
- Keep uniform and personal appearance clean and professional.
- Protect confidential company information and safeguard company property.
- Respond to guest needs in a proactive and courteous manner.
- Use clear and professional communication at all times.
- Build positive working relationships and help the team achieve shared goals.

Physical Requirements
- Be able to stand, sit, or walk for long periods.
- Reach above shoulder height and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
- Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance.
Preferred Background
A technical, trade, or vocational school qualification is preferred. The role expects at least 3 years of relevant work experience. No supervisory experience is required, and no license or certification is needed.
