KidStrong McDonough is growing quickly and is seeking an energetic, enthusiastic Children's Coach who enjoys working with both kids and parents and wants to make a meaningful difference.

Role and Schedule Details
- This role is best suited to someone with athletic or coaching experience, ideally including work with children from 12 months to 11 years old.
- You will lead classes that support brain, physical, and character development using a monthly curriculum.
- You should feel comfortable explaining the reasoning behind the curriculum to parents and guardians.
- Classes usually take place on weekdays from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM and in the evenings until 7:00 PM.
- Weekend classes generally run from 8:00 AM through noon.
- Scheduling may be flexible depending on studio requirements.
- There may be extra hours available through private party coaching.
- Experience as a pediatric OT/PT is helpful but not required.
Responsibilities
- Lead small classes of 6 to 15 children, generally ranging in age from 12 months to 11 years.
- Deliver the KidStrong curriculum as directed by the headquarters programming team.
- Keep classes on time and maintain the intended pace of the lesson plan.
- Welcome children and their parents or guardians individually before class begins and at the start of class.
- Maintain an upbeat, motivating, and professional energy throughout the session.
- Demonstrate exercises and guide children through them safely.
- Keep the center clean, including the lobby, bathrooms, and flooring; this includes trash removal, sweeping, mopping, wiping equipment, and sanitizing mats at the end of a shift.
- Use the coach app to log class information and share records such as attendance and awards with parents.
- Communicate professionally with teammates through Slack and check messages periodically when away from the center.
- Complete required training through FranConnect.
- Work in a physically active setting that may involve covering multiple miles per shift and lifting or moving equipment up to 25 pounds.
- Provide hands-on support to children when needed to maintain technique and safety.
- Help parents of children age three and under with class direction and flow.
- Attend monthly programming meetings to learn the next month’s curriculum.
- Attend additional mandatory staff meetings when requested by the director.
- Learn and run Coach KidStrong Academy sessions held during school breaks such as winter break and summer break.
- Obtain certified status through the headquarters training and certification team.
Qualifications
- A genuine passion for working with children is essential.
- Previous coaching experience with children in the relevant age range is preferred.
- Experience speaking with and educating parents about the program is preferred.
- Intermediate understanding of physiology, exercise methods, and body mechanics.
- Current CPR certification.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills with a positive and motivating style.
- Self-directed and able to complete tasks independently.
- Comfortable being in the spotlight and leading groups.
Compensation
Pay is listed at $13.00 to $25.00 per hour.
