Role Overview
dnata catering & retail is looking for a Catering Attendant in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. This is a practical, hands-on position that supports the aviation industry by helping prepare onboard food and service items for flights.
As part of the inflight catering team, you will contribute to a smooth passenger experience by preparing meals, assembling trays, organising carts, and making sure equipment is cleaned and ready for use. The work directly supports flight departures and helps keep service running efficiently for travellers across major airlines.
What You Will Do
- Prepare, portion, and arrange meals in line with visual presentation standards.
- Build meal trays according to airline requirements and place them into carts.
- Restock airline carts with packaged food, drinks, and required equipment.
- Load and unload dishwashers, then inspect cutlery, crockery, and glassware to ensure they are clean and in good condition.
- Work in line with food safety, hygiene, and workplace safety rules, including HACCP, IFSA, and QSAI standards.
- Coordinate with team members so deliveries are completed on schedule.
What You Need
- A valid National Police Check.
- Strong spoken and written communication skills.
- Good numerical ability for documentation and reporting.
- Comfort with standing for long periods and lifting or moving items as needed.
- Willingness to work across a 7-day rotating roster.
- Availability for 38 hours per week in a full-time permanent role.
- Well-groomed, tidy presentation with a strong focus on cleanliness.
- Knowledge of food hygiene and HACCP is preferred, though not mandatory.
- Basic knife handling skills are preferred, though not mandatory.
