Business Analyst (Entry-Level / Junior / Associate)

Role summary

This entry-level to associate business analyst role focuses on improving day-to-day operations and supporting strategic projects through data analysis, process review, and requirement gathering. The position is based in Houston, TX and is with Amelioration accounting & taxation.

What you will do

You will examine business information, assess workflows, and look for ways to raise efficiency, productivity, and overall performance. A key part of the role is working with stakeholders to capture business needs, define requirements, and understand operational issues and strategic priorities.

You will also create reports, dashboards, and presentations that highlight trends in performance, customer behavior, key metrics, and process results. In addition, you will partner with cross-functional teams to help deliver projects, support process improvements, and contribute to wider business transformation efforts.

The role also involves turning findings into practical recommendations that support better decisions, stronger operations, and long-term business growth. You will help track business performance and make sure process improvements stay aligned with organizational objectives.

Qualifications

A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Business Analytics, Economics, Finance, Management, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a similar discipline is required. The ideal candidate should bring strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and solid problem-solving ability.

Comfort with spreadsheets, reporting platforms, data analysis methods, and business process evaluation is important. Experience with requirement gathering, process mapping, performance tracking, project support, and business reporting will be an advantage.

Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills are needed to work effectively with people across different levels of the organization. Good planning and time management skills are also important, especially when handling several priorities and deadlines at once.

Knowledge of business intelligence, process improvement methods, change management, data visualization, KPI reporting, and data-led decision-making will be highly useful. Exposure to business analysis tools, workflow improvement, performance reporting systems, and process optimization work is a plus.
