Role overview
This position focuses on delivering analytics and insights for the UK Snacks and Grains business within the Global Business Services (GBS) setup. Acting as a partner to the UK Category and Commercial teams, the role helps accelerate growth for categories and customers through strong analysis of assortment, shelf space, and performance.
The job is centered on turning complex internal and external datasets into clear, commercially useful growth narratives. It supports retailer discussions, joint business planning, and category decisions while combining analysis, business storytelling, collaboration with stakeholders, and ongoing improvement of Category Management services within the Center of Excellence.
Responsibilities
- Carry out Category Management analytics for the UK Snacks and Grains category in line with agreed service standards and SLAs.
- Support assortment and space analysis to uncover whitespace opportunities, improve range decisions, and enhance shelf productivity across major UK retailers.
- Build customer-specific growth stories and performance narratives that strengthen retailer engagement and category selling.
- Prepare recurring and ad-hoc Customer Business Reviews by converting data into insights, implications, and recommended next steps.
- Interpret category, customer, and brand performance by combining multiple data sources with relevant market context.
- Identify performance drivers, risks, and optimization opportunities across channels, customers, competitors, and emerging market players.
- Respond to follow-up business questions with detailed analysis, clear tables, visuals, and insight-led storytelling.
- Work closely with Reporting Leads, Managers, and Senior Managers to meet business partner information needs.
- Handle several priorities at once while maintaining timely delivery, quality standards, scope, templates, and governance requirements.
- Serve as a dependable contact for stakeholders, balancing quick responses with analytical accuracy and quality control.
- Spot and escalate risks to delivery linked to capacity, tools, data availability, or process dependencies.
- Help improve Category Management and Reporting COE processes through workflow mapping and removal of bottlenecks.
- Support simplification, standardization, and digitization efforts with global and sector stakeholders.
- Use feedback from end users and business partners to improve outputs, processes, and day-to-day ways of working.
Requirements
- Strong grounding in category management, including range reviews, assortment, and space planning, along with knowledge of distribution and shelf KPIs.
- Sound analytical ability with the skill to turn data into practical, actionable insights.
- Capability to manage projects end to end, taking ownership of timelines and output quality.
- Strong problem-solving skills and comfort working through unclear or ambiguous situations.
- Excellent communication and storytelling ability to present findings in a simple, well-structured way.
- Proven stakeholder management skills with the ability to collaborate across teams and build alignment.
- Learning agility, with a willingness to adopt new tools, skills, and best practices to improve results.
