Job Purpose
The Assistant Manager - Security role focuses on carrying out day-to-day security activities in line with the site’s security direction. The position supports risk evaluation, helps apply mitigation steps, conducts patrols, manages access control, and safeguards assets to keep the workplace secure.
Responsibilities
The role covers operational support, monitoring, access management, and emergency handling across the site.
- Help coordinate routine security operations with the site and business security plan, and share practical inputs that improve the overall approach.
- Support the execution of operating procedures and SOPs so that security activities are carried out consistently and correctly.
- Take part in patrol duties and CCTV-based surveillance, record observations, and maintain strong situational awareness.
- Assist in managing access control activities and escalate any process gaps or deviations to security leadership.
- Support visitor access card handling and ensure entry and exit procedures remain controlled and efficient.
- Monitor traffic and cargo movement, including checks for vehicle and cargo authorisation, and use GPS and RFID-related tools where required.
- Respond as a support resource during crises, emergencies, and incidents, following response plans and handling exceptions appropriately.
- Maintain a learning mindset toward digital tools and AI developments that can improve business effectiveness and competitiveness.
Key Stakeholders
Internal: Officer Security, security staff, and other zonal teams.
External: Law enforcement agencies and security vendors.
Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree in Security Management or a closely related discipline is required.
Experience
A minimum of 3 years’ experience in security operations is needed, especially in access control, patrol operations, and emergency response.
