Role overview
The Area Manager will be responsible for coordinating day-to-day store operations across a defined territory in the Riyadh Region. Reporting to the Brand Manager, this role focuses on guiding store managers, improving business performance, and supporting the delivery of sales and profit objectives.
Key responsibilities
- Lead performance management for the stores in the assigned area and help shape the broader business plan, including sales and profitability targets.
- Review sales and territory data, study outcomes, and recommend practical changes to improve results.
- Make sure brand marketing and promotional activities are executed on schedule across all stores.
- Ensure loss prevention rules, systems, and procedures are properly followed in the stores.
- Monitor store shrinkage to keep it within company standards and protect company assets.
- Confirm that customer service initiatives are consistently implemented and that customer concerns are handled promptly and politely.
- Visit stores regularly to check operational standards, pricing accuracy, and merchandise presentation.
- Track market developments, including competitor actions and new product launches.
- Manage financial performance by closely watching manpower costs and store results so that locations remain profitable and within budget.
- Support the opening of new stores by ensuring resources are in place, and assist with the closure of existing stores when required.
- Oversee workforce planning and be involved in employee promotion, transfer, and disciplinary matters.
- Coach, motivate, and guide store managers and teams across all aspects of effective store operations.
- Ensure adherence to company policies and operating standards.
Scope of the role
- Manage store budgets, sales performance, and inventory outcomes, and coordinate with the Brand Manager on corrective actions.
- Help achieve seasonal sell-out goals.
- Keep control of store expenses and payroll budgets.
- Support efforts to improve employee retention in stores.
Decision-making and problem solving
- Work with a high level of independence and limited supervision.
- Take part in recruitment and interview decisions.
- Contribute input on individual store management performance.
- Help develop business plans and sales strategies.
- Review current operational practices and recommend improvements.
- Resolve customer questions and complaints in an accurate and timely way.
- Identify underperforming and successful sales initiatives and suggest ways to improve sales results.
- Handle escalated matters related to employees, accounting, merchandising, stock control, and loss prevention.
Qualifications and experience
The role calls for 3 to 6 years of relevant experience, including at least 3 years in an area manager, store manager, or similar leadership position. Prior experience with any Inditex brand such as Bershka, Pull & Bear, Lefties, Oysho, Massimo Dutti, or Stradivarius will be considered an advantage.
