Technical profile required

Candidates should have a diploma or technical certification in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, HVAC Technology, or Marine Engineering. Training in marine HVAC systems such as chillers, split units, and self-contained systems is expected. EPA certification or an equivalent qualification for refrigerant handling is preferred.

The role also calls for working knowledge of marine electrical systems, plumbing, and control wiring linked to HVAC operations.

Experience and system knowledge

Applicants need 3 to 5 years of practical experience in installing, diagnosing, and maintaining marine air-conditioning systems on yachts, speedboats, or similar vessels. Hands-on exposure to chilled water systems, DX systems, and split AC units is important, along with familiarity with brands such as Dometic, Cruisair, Marine Air Systems, Webasto, or comparable manufacturers.

Core responsibilities

The technician will be responsible for identifying and resolving AC issues, including refrigerant leaks, electrical failures, and compressor-related problems. The role also includes safely overhauling systems and recharging refrigerant, especially under demanding timelines during yacht refits, charter schedules, or other peak operating periods.

Experience integrating AC systems with yacht management platforms, alarms, and automation controls will be an advantage.

Compensation and benefits

The salary is negotiable in SAR. The package includes free food, accommodation, transportation, and overtime pay provided by the company.
