This on-site internship in Chennai is suited for someone interested in economic analysis, industrial trends, and climate-tech research. The role centers on examining how states and regions perform economically, how industry and investment patterns differ across geographies, and how sustainability-focused sectors are evolving across India.

What you'll work on

• Study state-level and regional economic performance using indicators tied to industrial growth, investment activity, productivity, and overall development.
• Assess the relative advantages, constraints, and competitive standing of different states and regions, and identify the drivers behind industrial progress.
• Monitor climate-tech and sustainability investments across Indian states, with attention to renewable energy, electric mobility, bioeconomy, energy storage, waste management, water sustainability, and low-carbon manufacturing.
• Compare industrial ecosystems, policy environments, infrastructure readiness, and investment conditions to spot promising opportunities.
• Contribute to research reports, economic profiles, investment dashboards, and presentation materials that translate findings into clear insights.
• Work with statistical, economic, and data-modelling tools, or build familiarity with them, to study trends, estimate opportunities, and support data-backed decisions.

Who this internship is for

Applicants should be available for a full-time, in-office internship in Chennai, be able to start between 24 June 2026 and 29 July 2026, commit to the full 2-month duration, and have relevant interests and skills for research-oriented analytical work.

Additional requirements

• You should feel comfortable engaging with a wide range of stakeholders, including senior executives and people working at the grassroots level such as farmers.
• A strong comfort level with detailed qualitative as well as quantitative analysis is important.
• You should be able to adapt well to flexible work settings and an evolving team culture.

Compensation and other details
