Overview
This remote contract role is suited to specialists who are highly skilled in Microsoft Word and PDF-based document work. The position supports the development of next-generation AI systems by contributing accurate, real-world document expertise. Prior AI experience is not required; strong subject-matter knowledge and professional document handling skills are the key requirements.
Responsibilities
- Review, refine, and format documents in Word and PDF while following both internal and client-specific standards.
- Handle tracked edits, reviewer comments, and file versioning across large and intricate documents.
- Build, update, and complete interactive forms and templates for varied business and professional use cases.
- Pull out and combine information accurately from Word and PDF files.
- Work with cross-functional teams to deliver precise document support on time and with confidentiality.
- Apply document processes for legal, regulatory, and compliance-oriented assignments.
- Guide and train stakeholders on advanced Word and PDF tools, along with best practices.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of intensive professional experience using Word and PDF tools.
- Strong command of document layout, markup, tracked changes, reviewing, and editing.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills, plus a very high level of attention to detail.
- Master’s degree, PhD, or JD in a relevant discipline such as law, healthcare, academia, public policy, or finance.
- Experience supporting Fortune 500 clients or work in similarly regulated or complex environments.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Self-directed, flexible, and comfortable working remotely under deadlines.
- Preferred background includes legal, healthcare administration, academic research, government consulting, or finance/real estate operations.
- Experience with advanced PDF capabilities such as form fields, digital signatures, and secure file handling is a plus.
- A portfolio showing strong Word and PDF project work is preferred.

This is a remote contract opportunity based out of San Francisco, CA. The role is focused on high-quality document work for advanced AI training use cases. No prior AI background is needed.
