Role overview
We are looking for a Weichenwärter:in (w/m/d) for DB InfraGO AG. The position can be based at Eilenburg, Falkenberg/Elster, Leipzig, Torgau, or Zeitz, with the role to start as soon as possible.
What you will do
- Ensure that shunting movements are carried out safely and on time at the mechanical signal box in Eilenburg, Falkenberg/Elster, Leipzig, Torgau, or the Zeitz marshalling yard.
- Set up the full route for train departures, including points, track alignment, and signals, so trains can leave safely.
- Coordinate with colleagues at neighboring signal boxes, locomotive drivers, and control centers.
- Issue, receive, and pass on operational messages and timetable-related notices.
- Monitor track sections and arrange line closures when disruptions occur.
What you should bring
- You already work as a Weichenwärter:in and have strong knowledge of mechanical signal box systems, or you are willing to learn them.
- You bring a strong sense of responsibility, reliability, expert judgment in stressful situations, and punctuality.
- Medical fitness for duty as a Weichenwärter:in is required.
- You are prepared to work shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
