Role overview
The Tower Hotel & Leisure Centre in Waterford City is seeking a Wedding & Events Coordinator to join the team on a maternity cover contract. This is a hands-on role for a driven, well-organised, and guest-focused professional who enjoys weddings, events, and delivering a high-quality experience at every stage.
The successful candidate will support the wedding and events function and help ensure each client and guest receives excellent service. The role involves coordinating a wide variety of events, maintaining strong client relationships, and working closely with multiple hotel departments to deliver smooth and memorable occasions.
What the role involves
This position covers weddings, meetings, conferences, corporate functions, private dining, banquets, and other special events held at the hotel. It calls for strong organisation, close attention to detail, and the confidence to manage client communication while coordinating with internal teams.
Core duties
- Handle wedding and event enquiries promptly and professionally, with a focus on turning interest into confirmed business.
- Arrange meetings with potential clients, carry out property show rounds, and present the hotel’s wedding and events offering.
- Create detailed function sheets and make sure all client requirements are passed clearly to the relevant departments.
- Serve as a key contact for clients during the full planning journey.
- Plan and coordinate weddings, conferences, meetings, banquets, private dining, and other special occasions.
- Work alongside the Events Manager, Sales Manager, Operations, Kitchen, Food & Beverage, Accommodation, and Reception teams to deliver each event seamlessly.
- Support event setup needs and help ensure everything meets expectations on the day.
- Keep accurate records of enquiries, bookings, contracts, payments, and event information.
- Manage client amendments, requests, and feedback in a professional manner.
- Attend wedding showcases, open days, and promotional events when needed.
- Collaborate with the Sales & Marketing team to increase wedding and event business.
Candidate profile
The employer is looking for someone with experience in wedding co-ordination, event planning, sales, or hospitality; hotel background is an advantage. The right person should bring a warm, professional manner, strong communication skills, excellent organisation, and the ability to manage several priorities in a busy hotel setting.
A proactive approach is important, along with the ability to convert enquiries into bookings. Administrative confidence is also needed, including comfortable use of Microsoft Office and hotel or event management systems. Familiarity with current wedding and event trends would be beneficial.
Schedule and working arrangement
This is a full-time, on-site role in Waterford, County Waterford, Ireland. Flexibility to work evenings and weekends is required to suit business needs.

Additional rewards include Employee of the Month and Employee of the Year recognition, an employee referral bonus subject to terms and conditions, a second-night-free benefit for qualifying overnight stays booked at any Neville Hotel subject to terms and conditions, and opportunities for further training and career development.
Eligibility
