Role overview

In this position, you will take charge of proper waste handling and collection at a logistics site while also acting as the environmental contact person on site. The core focus is to meet legal obligations, follow company standards, and continuously reduce waste.

What you will do

• Classify waste correctly and ensure it is stored, separated, packed, labeled, and prepared for pickup in line with European and local waste regulations.
• Carry out detailed environmental checks to support ongoing improvement, including inspections of waste collection points, spill kits, quarantine areas for items under review, and waste-management equipment.
• Help prepare monthly waste reports so the site can monitor waste volumes and identify improvement opportunities.
• Track environmental incidents at the location and take part in investigations together with the local environmental manager.
• Maintain the waste storage area as well as all related safety equipment such as eyewash stations, emergency kits, and fire extinguishers.
• Manage all pickups and serve as the point of contact for the disposal vendor, including sending collection logs, scheduling and coordinating pickups, following up on documentation for each waste shipment, and keeping waste transport records up to date.
• Research trends, inventory losses, and cost-saving opportunities where relevant.

Day-to-day work

You will coordinate between Operations, Facilities & Engineering, and the Environmental Safety & Protection team. Your work will also include managing internal disposal for hazardous and non-hazardous waste, overseeing the donation process, coordinating and improving external waste collection, handling internal pallet disposal, taking on special tasks and projects, and supporting the technical team.

You will receive training on applicable regulations and learn how to provide on-site technical support for waste disposal and the implementation of Amazon Global Environmental Assurance and Protection (EAP) programs.

Required profile

You should bring advanced German language skills in both speaking and writing, practical experience with the MS Office suite, a solid technical understanding of waste management processes, and familiarity with environmental regulations.

Preferred profile

It is an advantage if you also have advanced English skills, experience in logistics, operations, warehousing, or another customer-facing environment, and a strong eye for detail and accuracy.
