Role overview

Test Valley Borough Council is hiring a Waste Collection Operative to join its Environmental Services team in Romsey. This is a hands-on position suited to someone who enjoys helping the public, can work independently or within a team, and is looking for a stable and meaningful role.

What the job involves

In this post, you will take part in collecting a wide range of waste materials and help make sure the service runs reliably and efficiently. The work is physically demanding, but it is also varied and rewarding for people who are energetic, practical, and committed to good service.

You should be comfortable working outdoors in all kinds of weather and dealing with members of the public as part of the day-to-day role.

Working pattern

The role begins at 7:00 am each morning and requires 37 hours per week. There may be planned overtime, including some Saturdays and bank holidays, and additional overtime could also become available.

Pay

The salary for this position is between £25,952.28 and £27,391.68 per year.
