Job description

About Astellas

Astellas is focused on developing treatments that make a meaningful difference in people’s lives. The company approaches some of the most difficult health challenges with a patient-first mindset, treating patient centricity as a practical principle that guides everyday decisions and working methods. Across the organization, every team member is expected to contribute to this culture by keeping the patient experience in view.

The company has created innovative medicines in areas such as immunology, oncology, and urology. These therapies aim to improve quality of life, extend life for people with cancer, support transplantation, and address conditions that often receive less attention. Astellas takes an end-to-end view of innovation, moving promising science from research through to patient care with the help of strong internal teams and external partners.

Role Overview

The Warehouse & Logistics Partner is responsible for supporting the complete management of pharmaceutical stock, warehouse activities, and logistics operations. The role is designed to protect product quality, meet Good Distribution Practice (GDP) standards, and enable safe, compliant, and efficient movement of raw materials and finished products. It involves close coordination with procurement, manufacturing, quality, and third-party logistics providers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support department and wider business priorities by contributing to strategy, making sound operational judgments, advising teams, and helping lead improvement and change initiatives.
  • Manage core warehouse processes including receiving, inspection, storage, picking, packing, staging, and inventory control while maintaining a safe, clean, and compliant environment aligned to GDP and GMP requirements.
  • Oversee logistics and distribution activities, including inbound and outbound shipping, temperature-controlled transport, shipping paperwork, customs compliance, and the performance of third-party logistics partners.
  • Maintain quality and regulatory readiness by ensuring accurate ERP and WMS records, supporting deviations and corrective/preventive actions, contributing to SOPs and KPIs, and keeping the operation audit-ready.
  • Use ERP and supply chain tools to improve visibility, monitor performance, analyze trends, and identify opportunities to enhance processes and decision-making.
  • Work collaboratively with QA, production, planning, and procurement teams, communicate risks and progress clearly, and contribute to a culture of teamwork, innovation, and results.

Requirements

  • Significant experience in warehouse operations.
  • Practical experience with ERP and supply chain systems, such as SAP.
  • Strong analytical ability, problem-solving capability, and organizational discipline.
  • Confident leadership and effective communication skills.
  • Good negotiation, interpersonal, and stakeholder-management skills.

Education

A bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a similar field is required, along with extensive experience in GMP-regulated warehousing and logistics.
