Job description
Role overview
An internal permanent part-time opportunity has opened for a Ward Assistant to support the stroke rehabilitation team at Ysbyty Ystrad Fawr University Hospital in Ystrad Mynach, Wales. The post calls for someone energetic, reliable, flexible and detail-focused who can work alongside the ward’s multidisciplinary team and contribute to the smooth running of a busy clinical environment.
Main duties
The role centres on helping the ward function effectively by supporting day-to-day operational tasks, maintaining cleanliness and infection prevention standards, and keeping stock supplies at appropriate levels. The postholder may also be asked by the nurse in charge to take on urgent tasks that need immediate attention and prioritisation during the working day.
Experience and skills
Candidates should bring recent experience in an acute hospital or similar clinical setting. An existing infection control certificate would be an advantage. The role requires someone who is literate, numerate and able to organise their work well. Knowledge of stock control is desirable.
