Role overview
A rapidly growing technology company in Chicago is hiring a Video Editor / Motion Graphics Designer to help define and elevate its visual presence across digital channels, social platforms, product marketing, and live events.
This is a practical, hands-on creative position suited to someone who enjoys a fast-moving environment and can turn concepts into polished video narratives, animations, and motion-led content. The role partners closely with creative, marketing, product, and leadership teams to produce work that feels current, refined, and engaging.
The position is full-time and onsite, with a five-day workweek at the River North location in downtown Chicago.
Key responsibilities
- Produce both short-form and long-form edits for social media, websites, campaigns, product launches, and event coverage.
- Build motion graphics, animated elements, title treatments, and branded visuals.
- Work with creative and marketing stakeholders to develop campaign ideas and shape storytelling direction.
- Edit interviews, product demonstrations, promotional clips, explainers, and executive-facing content.
- Create and animate assets for paid campaigns, presentations, digital advertising, and social media.
- Support the ongoing refinement of the company’s visual style and motion design guidelines.
- Own projects from early concepting through final delivery while handling several deadlines at once.
- Prepare exports and video versions tailored for Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok, and web use.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of professional experience in video editing and motion graphics.
- A strong portfolio that demonstrates editing, animation, and motion design capabilities.
- Advanced working knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
- Solid grasp of pacing, typography, transitions, sound design, and visual storytelling.
- Background creating content for digital-first and social-first brands.
- Ability to collaborate effectively while also managing work independently.
- Excellent organization and a sharp eye for detail.
- Comfort working onsite in a collaborative creative setting.
Nice-to-have experience
- Prior experience in a startup, agency, or technology company.
- Familiarity with Cinema 4D or other 3D animation tools.
- Exposure to Figma and contemporary design systems.
- Experience with filming video or participating in on-set production.
- Understanding of AI-assisted creative workflows and production tools.
Additional information
Work arrangement: Full-time, onsite, five days per week.
Location: River North, downtown Chicago, Greater Chicago Area.
